Summary:

4000 acres of Game Department land used for hunting, fishing and hiking just south of Sky Meadows. Starting at several low lying lakes, trails climb up to 2000 feet in ridges to run along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains including a section of the Appalachian Trail. Known for its displays of wildflowers, especially the large flowered trillium and hawk population, the Thompson WMA area has multiple access points and many trail routes.
